Initial Thoughts on Style/Genre

After looking through loads of different regional magazines in and outside my area I have found our that a lot of regional magazines don't appeal to a younger target audience. As of this I would like to market my regional magazine products at a wide target audience. As I'm going to be producing a website as one of my products I believe that this will actually attract a percentage of a younger target audience while still attracting my conventional older target audience too. In order for me to do this successful and to actually attract some of the younger target audience  I will be do a lot of primary research in order to find out what the younger audience would find appeal whether its, music, art, sport or even nature. Looking at a lot of exciting regional magazines in my area such as Cornwall Today and Devon Life their target audience is the conventional for all regional magazines which is the 31+ in the social bracket of A-C1. This will also have to be my primary target audience in order to generate sales. I will be planning to create a lifestyle regional magazine and there are many of these in my area with the same target audience I know that there is a guaranteed market for my magazine to enter although it will be in intense competition with all the others. This leads me on to making my product have features that attract this target audience other my competitors. I will also be looking at reaching out to the younger target audience as this is something my computers don't do and this could make me a threat in the market.

After doing a lot of research I have concluded that I need to apply all my focus on a single target audience in order to be able to make my products best suited to them. If I tried attracting both of the target audiences then my products could become quite confusing and messy. So in conclusion I have decided that my main target audience will be a younger target audience as there is a gap in the market for this and now I can apply my marketing and research towards this target audience.
