Shot List

In regards to the shot types used on regional magazines are important as they can affect genre and audience representation. Landscape images are commonly used on regional magazine and ensuring that my landscape images react to my audience and the common codes and conventions of a regional lifestyle magazine will ultimately determine the success of my magazine. When analysing other regional magazine areas they all seem to adopt the same technique. A basic landscape image is either used or occasionally there will be a subject in the foreground that relates to the main article e.g. Wildlife Magazine may have a picture of an animal in the foreground.

The most common shot type and the ones that'll be taking on my photoshoot are:

EWS (Extreme Wide Shot)

VWS (Very Wide Shot)

The EWS and the VWS will be the most common shots that I use for my regional magazine as a lot of my imagery I want to be landscapes of historic house, coastlines or beautiful gardens and heritage. But this does not mean that this will be the only photographs that I will need. When I looked through example of regional magazines such as Cornwall Today I learned that there are lot of other imagery used throughout the magazine. For example on the contents page there was a profit of the editor which was not a EWS or a VWS.
Therefore I will have to consider other shot types such as a medium close up (MCU) and a Mid Shot (MS) which can be used when taking a photo of someone participating in an event.

Example's of Medium close up and Mid Shot:

MCU (Medium Close Up)
